Live coding for absolute beginners
Code your own step counter in 2 hours
We program a MicroBit ‘mini computer’ in the popular programming language Python. Using short modules, participants program ‘flying text’, a temperature display and a step counter.
What your employees will learn & gain
- An understanding of what programming languages are and how algorithms help us solve problems
- A basic understanding of how a code is built
- First hands-on experience on how to code
- Concrete commands in the language Python
- We empower your employees to start their own ‘coding journey’ with tips & resources

- People with no or little IT and coding background who want to be able to grasp basic concepts of coding
- People who feel like they need to build new skills (i.e. coding!) but do not know where to start
- People with a specific interest in Python; who want to start using Python for problem-solving in their work

We may tailor our workshop to your employee’s knowledge level and your wishes for content depth. The minimum presentation should last 2 hours.
Remark
Participants only need a laptop. The MircoBits are provided by us. After the event, they can be used as self-programmed step counters!
Understand the internet
How the internet works (and sometimes doesn’t)
We give people with no IT background a good understanding of what the internet is and how it works. We explain related terms like ‘servers’ or ‘network’. And, of course, we discuss ‘hot topics’ like virtual servers or cloud computing.

Diversity in Tech: Why it is Important
In Switzerland, only 15% of women work in tech. Older generations are generally less tech-savvy. We all know that tech is not really diverse. But why does it matter?
